Shepherd

God is the maker of everything that exists, holding it all together right now, not just at the start. Colossians 1:16-17 says of Christ: “For by Him all things were created… and in Him all things hold together.”

He is one God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — not three gods and not one person wearing three masks… He is also personal. Exodus 34:6 has him naming himself to Moses as “compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.”

When an answer rests on a passage, it hands you the passage —
          a chip that opens the actual text, in context, so you can check it rather than
          take its word. Its instructions are blunt about the rest: a wrong reference is worse
          than no reference, so when it isn't certain of chapter and verse it names the passage
          in words instead of guessing a number.
Competence
No medical, psychological, legal or counselling advice. It is not a replacement
          for a pastor, a counsellor or a confessor, it says so, and it points you back to the one
          you actually have.
Tradition
Orthodox-creedal, and denominationally neutral where the church is genuinely
          divided. On baptism, on the Lord's Supper, on the gifts, it lays the faithful readings
          side by side and gives each one its real argument rather than quietly making the lowest-church
          reading the default. You can also set it to speak within one tradition — Evangelical,
          Reformed, Catholic, Orthodox or Pentecostal.
Itself
It is not a person, it has no name, and it is not your friend. The lowercase
          word is the role. The uppercase Shepherd is Christ — and it points you to him rather than
          standing in for him.
